Question

Monika P. asked: I rarely need to read more than 5 articles, let alone 100 or 1000. Why would I need to read so many? Who needs it? Please explain the purpose of incremental reading!

Answer

This is a matter of your learn drive. If you are very hungry for knowledge, you will always want to read more and more. The more your read, the more you think you need to read. The more you read, the more you want to remember what you read. The more you know, the more you know you don't know.

Incremental reading leads to a form of healthy "addiction". This is all based on the pleasure of learning. It is very hard to convince anyone who need only 5 article, but those who try, soon go to tens, and hundreds, and then thousands. In the meantime, they learn a lot and learn with pleasure. In the long run, with a bit of investment at the start, this is a very healthy and enjoyable process that keeps expanding your knowledge of the world.
