Cram and dump

Cram and dump is a derogatory term for the old learning rule employed at school: (1) cram before the exam (on the last night if need be), and (2) forget all that useless knowledge in a short time (as a result of low valuation and bad learning). An alternative derogatory name is binge and purge.
Students around the world are conditioned to employ the rule due to the excessive volume of knowledge required at exams, and due to minimal understanding of the importance or relevance of knowledge to their own life.
Cram and dump is the opposite of effective self-directed learning based on the learn drive and the pleasure of learning.
