SuperMemo 8 for Windows was the 8th release of SuperMemo line started with SuperMemo 1.0 for DOS in 1987. SuperMemo 8 evolved from SuperMemo 7 for Windows via an intermediate product codenamed "Genius". Genius was the first hypermedia application of SuperMemo. The name SuperMemo 8 was restored in 1997, when Genius implemented all spaced repetition toolset available in its predecessor (SuperMemo 7).
